2ndBrain is built local-first. This policy explains the little data we handle while the product is pre-launch, and the principles the iOS app is designed around.
The short version
Your notes are yours. The iOS app is designed to keep your captured content and AI processing on your device — it is not sold, rented, or used to train third-party models.
Right now, the only thing we collect is the email address you give us to join the waitlist.
What we collect today
Waitlist email. When you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit so we can notify you about the beta and launch. This is handled through our email provider (Loops).
Basic, privacy-respecting analytics may be used to understand aggregate traffic to this site. We do not build advertising profiles.
How we use it
To email you about early access, the iOS beta, and launch — and nothing else. One message at launch, plus occasional relevant updates. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email.
On-device by design
The 2ndBrain app is designed to process your captures with on-device intelligence on your iPhone. Content you capture is intended to stay on your device and under your control.
We will update this policy with exact data-handling details before the app ships, so you know precisely what happens to your data before you ever install it.
Your rights
You can ask us to access or delete your waitlist email at any time by contacting hello@2ndbrainapp.com. If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection.
We keep waitlist emails only as long as needed to run the waitlist and launch communications.
